500 Internal Server Error

This error means something went wrong on the server when trying to access your site. This could be down to:

  • folder or file permissions
  • authentication
  • invalid php code

Here are some ways to help identify each and fix them.

SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES) [/home/username/AboveWebRoot/fatfree/lib/db/sql.php:548]

Your Database password is incorrect in DatabaseConnection.php reset the password and try again.

Be sure to check the file in your PHPStorm project matches the file on your Server in AboveWebRoot/autoload/DatabaseConnection.php.


The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@your_domain.edinburgh.domains to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This is likely due to a permissions issue. Make sure you have set the correct deployment options. You might need to check via the File Manager on your server if the folder permissions have updated.

You are probably

  • using XMLHttpRequest rather than Ajax
  • Are querying a https from a http site or vice versa
  • you have opened the html page your browser address bar should read file://path/to/your/file, don’t do that, use your server instead.
